AirConnect, a Romanian airline, has cancelled its Budapest-Cluj-Napoca flight route, following a decision to discontinue its scheduled flights between the two cities.
Discontinuation of AirConnect Flights
AirConnect, a Romanian airline, removed its direct Budapest-Cluj-Napoca route from its booking system. The route, which was inaugurated on 28th March 2023, had only operated three flights between Cluj Napoca and the Hungarian capital without delay since its launch. Consequently, the airline decided to discontinue its scheduled flights between Cluj-Napoca and Budapest for technical and/or commercial reasons, with some flights merged with those between Bucharest and Budapest, and others cancelled. The airline’s last flight between the two cities occurred on 10th June 2023, with subsequent flights cancelled, according to Flightradar24.
Alternative Flight Options
Flights between Bucharest and Budapest, which were unaffected by the cancellation, will continue to operate twice a week, with its booking system currently open until the end of October. However, the Budapest-Cluj-Napoca route will not be left unserved; Aeroexpress will operate the flight thrice weekly.
Cancellation of Other Budapest Flight Routes
The AirConnect cancellation marks the third time this summer that an airline has revoked its newly-announced flights to Budapest; Dan Air and Kuwait Airways also cancelled their scheduled flights to the Hungarian city.
