A recently published report by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has ranked ELTE as the leading university in Hungary, placing it in the top 2.6% of the world's universities.

ELTE secured a place in the top 517 universities across the globe. The university has maintained its leading position in the Hungarian higher education rankings since 2014. ELTE has been ranked in the top 206 universities in Europe, sharing the same position with other universities such as the University of Zagreb.
