Between the 28th and 30th of April, Hungary's national railway (MÁV), GYSEV and MÁV-Volán Group, will offer free travel on selected public transportation services to pilgrims attending the Papal Visit in Budapest.
During the Papal Visit, pilgrims attending the event at Papp László Sports Arena and Kossuth Square in Budapest will experience free travel through all train and long-distance/suburban bus services across Hungary.
Those who wish to use this service will only have to pay any necessary surcharges and the 1st class supplement. However, it is still uncertain whether inspectors will be able to differentiate between those who are traveling for the Papal Visit and those who are taking advantage of the promotion.
