A new Hungarian opera, composed by Eötvös at the request of the Hungarian Opera House, is set to premiere in Budapest. The opera is based on László Krasznahorkai's book "The Melancholy of Resistance" and was also the inspiration for Béla Tarr's film "Werckmeister Harmonies".
