Budapest is hosting the 14th Gyula Honey and Gingerbread Festival on December 8-9. The festival aims to promote honey and celebrate the Hungarian Honey of the Year.

Over the years, there has been progress in the variety and consumption of honey in Hungary. More people are now looking for different types of honey, such as rapeseed honey, which was previously unsaleable. Additionally, the average annual per capita honey consumption in Hungary has been rising.
