More frequent train service
The service will run three times a week starting on June 9th until September 30th, with sleeping, dining, and couchettes cars available for travellers. Compared to last year, the train will also run three times a week outside the high season until June 17th and from August 28th in the offseason.
The Adria InterCity will depart from Budapest every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday while returning from Split every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
No border control
This year, travellers will not have to go through border control, making travel more convenient in Croatia. With later arrival and earlier departure timings, travellers on the Adria InterCity train service will have more time to relax during their trip. Additionally, with air-conditioned cars and power sockets in every cabin, travellers can enjoy a comfortable journey.
Dining and discounts
The Adria InterCity train service is known for serving a wide range of food and drinks in one of the most elegant dining cars on Hungarian railways. The trolley will be available throughout the 15-hour journey, and all passengers can enjoy mineral water and sweets, hot drinks, fruit juice, and breakfast in the morning.
MÁV-START also offers special discounts for families, including children's tickets for children aged 6-15 for EUR 31 and offers starting from EUR 209 for larger families, groups, and groups of friends with a full berth cabin for up to 6 people.
Breathtaking journey
The train journey from Budapest to Split is a breathtaking one, crossing the border along the southern shore of Lake Balaton, leaving Zagreb, and heading for the Dinarides. Travellers will descend to the coast after crossing passes almost 900 meters above sea level before arriving in Split at 9:44 AM.
The train is also available for passengers to board in other cities such as Székesfehérvár, Siófok, Fonyód, Balatonszentgyörgy, Nagykanizsa, and Gyékényes along the way home.
